Asking for Hippie inspired songs from the 60's and 70's, and one of the examples is "Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin". Then further below they're asking that the vocals be "Top Notch"...So I'm confused, do my vocals have to be spot on, as far as being in tune goes, or if I have a song where the lead vocals are a bit pitchy, is that acceptable? Glad they didn't add a Lou Reed song into the mix......This type of thing always confuses the heck out of me....

I wouldn't say Bob Dylan's vocals are pitchy.

More like nasal, scratchy and talky.

I think its pretty funny that they are saking for "top notch" vocals and then they give Bob Dylan as an ala. His music may have inspired millions and made millions but I don't ever remember anyone talking about what a great vocalist he was.

I'm guessing that Taxi is just giving us what their client asked for. Eventhough its sorta contradictory

Yep, it's listings like these that drive me batty...Like asking for a hamberger well done, but pink on the inside...I've plunked down enough $5 bills over the years on listings that I "thought" I nailed only to get rejected for a reason that had nothing to do with what they asked for...

My interpretation is that the delivery has to be top notch. It must be passionate and the emotion in the voice is more important than timbre, tone and pitch. I'm not a big Bob Dylan fan, but I can understand the appeal to his singing. He sounds authentic. It's all about the vibe.
