Hi and please forgive my amateur confusion.
I'm trying to understand this listing.
The ref's are "Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, The Future Sound of London".
All very cool mixxy types who smoothly blend different genres in a jazzy space age lounge thing.
And they do it very well!
I'm confused because the listing states:
"EDM" and
"I need
high-tech sounding electronic music that could play over a montage of real robots that have been recently built as part of a science project".
I understand that the referenced artists make music with electronic equipment BUT it doesn't sound like EDM to me.
Maybe I'm just way too confused :-/
Shine some light on me fellow Taxi members. Thanks

Heya, addhitman.
It's easier to address your questions if you post the entire text of the listing.

Russell

I knew that!
EDM INSTRUMENTAL TRACKS are needed by an A-List Hollywood Music Supervisor working on a Documentary Film about a modern day inventor. He's searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Tracks with cool, contemporary beats in the stylistic ballpark of artists like Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, The Future Sound of London, etc. Quoting the Music Supervisor: "I need Electronic Instrumental music with interesting, moving beats and breaks. I'm not looking for anything too heavy, slammin', or over the top. I need high-tech sounding electronic music that could play over a montage of real robots that have been recently built as part of a science project. Something with a feel in the ballpark of Cut Chemist will be great. Your Tracks should give us a sense of action, science, and technology." Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). All submissions should be at least two minutes long. The license fee for this pitch is $1,000 - $3,000 depending on the ultimate use. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor pitch, so you'll keep 100% of your Master and Publishing rights, plus you'll also get 100% of the sync fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control 100% of the Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. No full critiques. Please submit 1-3 Instrumental Tracks no later than THURSDAY, March 27th, 2014 by 1pm (PDT). Ah there we go...
Well according to my clock, you've got 40 minutes to submit.
but anyway, it looks like the person who wrote the listing made a mistake putting "EDM Instrumental Tracks" up front when they should have put "Electronic Instrumental Tracks." The listing is concise and understandable if you make that little change.
Hope you have something Electronically and Musically Robo-Bizarre for that listing.

Russell

I submitted one last night. Probably too "bombastic" but I did my best to interpret the listing.
Maybe I'll get my $5 back due to the typo

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.
It's much appreciated!

cool track with all the stutters / glitch / wobbles, but yeah might be a bit agressive for this one. the section at 1:05 was closer IMO.
good luck!

Wow, I had to lean into that song.
Sounds good, but probably off target.
Good luck.
