when TAXI forwards to a Library you're already in

What do YOU do?
I would hate to pester the folks at TAXI before EVERY submission. But I don't wanna throw out $5/cue to try to get into a Library that already has those cues... hmmmm.

Hey Russell
Do you mean the library has not signed your tunes yet, but does have your forwarded material? Is what you want to avoid paying to have material forwarded that has already been forwarded?

So you have so many forwards and deals that they're over-lapping! That's a good problem to have.
I guess this happened to me once or twice. Not sure what you can do.

I have found you get a sense of who the listing party is by the way they word the listing. There are key words that seem to always pop up for each library. Once you are in a particular library, you start to recognize their listings. If I see a listing that seems familiar, I'll call taxi and ask.
Cheers

I am worrying about shopping cues through TAXI to a library that I'm already shopping cues to directly.
Usually if a Library re-lists for a certain genre in a short period of time, TAXI will say something like "the party listed on listing xxxxx send new material, don't submit anything you submitted to that listing."
Yeah, Kayle, some are rather obvious (when it matches a brief) but sometimes it gets a bit hazy.

Jim

I wouldn't go as far as to say "so many" but at $5 a pop it is a concern.

Yeah, $5 adds up fast if you're submitting a lot of tracks!

Ditto. I had a track forwarded a couple of months ago to a library I already belong to. I could have sent it myself for them to consider. $5 is $5

This is why I always thought (if they ever get around to that Taxi 2.0 we used to hear about) it might be cool to have like a Client code or something in the listings. I know they can't tell us who the client actually is, but if they coded them somehow so that if you know you have tracks in client 469B and you see a new listing with code 469B you can know not to bother with them.
This could also help if you know you already got a particular song forwarded to client 469B for one listing and you never heard back from them so you don't want to submit the same song to a new listing for the same company because you know they probably aren't interested in that track. You can cut down on the redundancy.
But, then again, I suppose it wouldn't take long for members to start sharing codes with each other and ruin it for everybody.
I don't know, I'm just kinda rambling a few ideas out loud.
