What would you pitch to #S150331SS?

Hi all,

My first post so, greets :)

CONTEMPORARY, ACOUSTIC-BASED SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Mainstream Pop Appeal and Male Vocals are needed by an Indie Music Publisher with strong ties to a Major International Record Label and the artists on their roster. He's eager to find original, Mid-Tempo Songs that would appeal to the fans of artists like James Blunt, Robbie Williams, Jon Mayer, etc., etc., etc.

I find this one a bit confusing. James Blunt IMO has a more pop based sound than Jon Mayer so I would aim for something somewhere between the two, but Robbie Williams is nothing like the other 2. He’s not what I’d call an acoustic-based singer/songwriter at all.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Kevin.

Yeah, it's difficult when there is an outlier like that. You could throw out the one that is different and concentrate on the similar ones, or you could comb through Robbie Williams songs to find some that seem similar to some songs by the other two...

OR you could shoot for the intent of the listing... "CONTEMPORARY, ACOUSTIC-BASED SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Mainstream Pop Appeal" and just make sure they would sound correct played on the same radio station as the others.

After all, the listing doesn't say SOUND LIKE THESE THREE GUYS... it says "Appeal to the fans of these guys."... AND all of the artists that TAXI didn't name that are implied in the " etc., etc., etc."

Good to meet you too Russell :)

Thanks, yeah I guess they're casting their net pretty wide for this one.

"Send us the best mid-tempo acoustic based song with pop appeal and male vocals you have", would probably sum it up.

Kevin.
