Hey Russell - question...if a listing says approximately 30 - 90 second cue length....Is it considered bad form not to submit anything longer than 90 sec? is it returned if you send 1:30 cue that's a good fit for the listing for example?

If they specify a length, then I'd stick to it. Find a way to end your track at 129 with a little button, maybe start the cue later too (like if you have AA BB AA BB start it at the second AA) cause they're okay with 30 secs.

I don't think you'd get returned just for that, but suppose it was forwarded? You give them 3 mins when they asked for between 30 and 1.30... they might move onto the next cue. JMHO.

Steven,
I agree with Vikki. I've been burned before by not sticking to the listing. I sent some cues that were under 2:00 and the screener said they would have been forwarded but I didn't make the "at least 2:00" requirement of the listing. :(

So, if they want 30- 90 I would stick with that (90 = 1:30). The one thing I see in a current listing that says "30 to 90" is the word "approximately" which in my mind would give a tiny bit of leeway?

I submitted a cue recently for one that requires 2:00 or more... the cue is 1:59... I am SO crossing my fingers on THAT! (or I could insert a half second of silence at the beginning and end to fool the MP3 player :geek: nah! cheating not allowed... maybe I'll cut it with an extra note at the beginning :ugeek: or a longer reverb tail :ugeek: ... or change the tempo just a tiny bit :ugeek: )

Yes, the listings have been awesome lately! I have been so busy with my other job that I could do only a couple submissions in the last week or so. What a burn! Lots of juicy ones

I agree

Lots of opportunities.
Reminds me of a video of Dean Krippane at a Taxi seminar.
He said that the listings were like diamonds falling from the sky or something to that effect.
