"a TAXI screener handpicked by the Company"

Can someone shed some light on this? I'm pretty sure it's self explanatory but just looking for a behind the scenes peek.

Does this mean one person listens to everything submitted for a listing or is there a group of screeners selected?

fwiw: the title reads as though "the Company" chose one particular Taxi screener as their Ambassador, being the go-to-guy
(or gal, as the case may be) to be the filter for the kind of music they're after.
Sounds like an enviable job, to me.
hth.

Right - which would explain the 30 day time frame if one poor soul had to listen to everything submitted to one listing.

That's why I ask is "a screener" really mean one individual or a group of individuals are reviewing?

Hi Steven.

From what I've gathered when Michael talked about this, is... that a "hand picked" screener is going to be one certain individual that the listing party wants to be the ONE to screen it all.

Other listings may have more than one screener.

The 30-day screening window is only a ballpark estimation. Sometimes it can run longer sometime shorter. It doesn't reflect on the number of screeners on a listing.

Thanks Russ!

That's a daunting task even if the screener is extremely organized and their mind/ears don't fatigue quickly. I'm thinking maybe they could get through 12-15 cues in an hour (while they make notes, mark the form, open a burrito (i kid lol but it does make me wish I had a recording cassette deck to use for the next submission)).

For the Full Critique listings, a screener would get through a LOT less than that in an hour.
And I would think that 12 songs in an hour would be on the top end for a Y/N listing.
I think I remember hearing Michael say that the screeners are only permitted to screen for four hours in a day.

Was this the same deal/announcement/question ML asked about getting special screening on a Y/N basis... no critique/comments?
Or is that yet another/different anomaly for fast-tracking?

I'm referring to the TAXI TV episode where Michael answered questions and gave us a look behind the TAXI curtain.
