New Listing INTROSPECTIVE, ALT POP SONGS with Singer/Songwriter sensibilities and Male or Female Vocals are needed by a Major Record Label for newly signed artist working on his debut album. This artist is a guy, but they'll listen to songs with female vocals if they could work from a female perspective. They're looking for passionate Songs in All-Tempos that could generally be found on the same playlist as acts like Broods, Lorde, Birdy, etc., etc., etc. Quoting the source: "They're looking for visually vibrant, honest, observational lyrics that really speak to the singer's experience. An accessible, well executed structure and engaging melodies that support an emotionally expressive vocal will get their attention." Songs should be well-crafted from start to finish, with memorable hooks in all sections, inviting melodies, and a great chorus that makes them beg you to cut your song are the order of the day for this pitch. Stripped-down acoustic demos are okay for this pitch if your song is really, really strong. Your recording quality (even for stripped-down demos) needs to be clean, clear, well balanced, and good enough to represent your song well. Please submit one to three Songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by a TAXI screener handpicked by the Label and must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Sunday, September 27, 2015. TAXI #S150927AP
There's obviously a typo (or two?) in the above listing, but which? Is it a new guy artist willing to listen to female vocals if the songs could work from a MALE perspective? Or is it a new GIRL artist working on HER debut willing to listen to male vocals that work from a female perspective...
Not that I'm gonna submit... just curious.
