TAXI Postings poorly formatted....

Anyone know why most (but not all) of the TAXI postings are poorly formatted? No paragraphs, no indents or bullets for links to examples, etc. They are very hard to read and just one more unnecessary hurdle for us to jump over. Proper formatting should be expected in this day and age to make what they're asking for as clear as possible.

Any ideas? Taxi?

Thanks in advance,

Doug s.

What side of the bed did you get out of today Doug? Ha Ha   ONLY JOKING!

I think you've got a point. What one person types a lot of people read and Michael stresses the importance of members interpreting the listings correctly.

The listings that have some of the features you mention are easier on the eye.

Two pics attached...one well laid out, the other not so. The not so one is the majority of ads I'm seeing.

Hi Doug
While I agree that some text layout issues can be improved, I just wanted to take a moment to focus on the positive. Up until recently, youtube reference links were not in most "regular" listings, they were only in the special emailed ones. Now Taxi is including them in all listings, when possible. So I want to give kudos there. :D

When I read a listing, my eyes go right to key things first-- genre, film/tv vs artist, exclusive vs non-exclusive, and the youtube links. So this hasn't really bothered me. But yes, some paragraph breaks are helpful.

:D Casey

I see what you mean.

I haven't been able to find the listings page for some time now. I just go into my account and click "submit music" and check out the listings there. Or alternately my email. Of course I have to parse the info sometimes.

I'm not trying to be negative...it's a positive thing in my mind to improve and constantly push forward. Isn't that what we're all here to do?

TAXI does great work...I send my kudos when appropriate. But these listings are often messy. Finding the details in these texts are the key to successful submissions.....that job is harder when it's a massive paragraph of jumbled text. A small thing that could be improved easily and could help us out. Why wouldn't TAXI want to do this if we all agree better formatted listings would help?

For me, I'm never looking at just one listing. I'm scanning a whole series of listings twice a month to find the ones that relate most to what I do. I'm also trying to figure out what listings are repeats, have I submitted to them before, do I have material now or could I write something in time, etc, etc. My mind is working overtime to make the best of these listings and my submission $$$$. The important parts of each listing should be easy to read.

Here's an example. The first block of text is TAXI's current ad. The 2nd is my formatted version....the text has not been changed...just formatted. Which is easier to find the important points of the ad?

I've got a feeling this thread has been noted and listings will probably be consistently formatted in the future.

And while we are on the subject, here is something that I do to keep track of listings that I want to submit to. When I find a listing I like, I copy the text and paste it into a word processor, formatting it the way it would be helpful for me. Then I print it out. I use these hard copies to work from and keep track of upcoming deadlines.
