Cue Lengths

Dear Fellow TAXI Members,
When a listing says:
All submissions can be anywhere from :60 Seconds to 2 minutes length.
This means AT LEAST :60 Seconds to NO MORE THAN 2 minutes length.
I mistakenly assumed that "All submissions can be anywhere from :60 Seconds to 2 minutes length." meant more than :60 seconds to "about" 2 minutes (like the 2 minute stuff that most libraries want that usually run more than 2 minutes)
Luckily I had some in the range AND the screener was a tiny bit lenient on a couple of others. However, I had several others that were returned that would have been forwarded if I'd have edited them to under 2:00.
Live and Learn. Hopefully I will hear from the client and I can shop the other cues after editing.

AMBIENT SOUNDSCAPE INSTRUMENTAL CUES (in various moods) are needed by a NON-Exclusive Music Library that’s constantly landing placements for TAXI members in lots of popular TV shows. Give them fresh, emotionally compelling Underscore Instrumental Cues that are in the general stylistic range of what you’d hear from composers/acts like Charlie Clouser, Explosions In The Sky, Trent Reznor and Attiicus Ross, etc., etc., etc. Take a listen to the following references to get an idea of what would fall into the range of what they need: NOTE: Don’t limit yourself to the moods of the references below, they’re open to a wide variety of styles for this pitch! “Far Away” by Charlie Clouser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9pAILX7Tt4 “Axe” by Explosions In The Sky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-b0NPE7FjY “What Have We Done to Each Other?” by Trent Reznor and Attiicus Ross: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4wSJMorYK8 Give them dynamic soundscapes that effectively deliver a textural display of instruments that blend in and out of each other to create a unique piece of engaging underscore. You’d be wise to stick to a singular mood throughout the entire Cue so your submission is cohesive from top to bottom. Give them Cues that convey one emotion throughout, whether it’s exploratory, mysterious, wondrous, or even a bit scary. All submissions can be anywhere from :60 Seconds to 2 minutes length. Non-faded endings with a natural decay/ring out are recommended. Do NOT copy or rip off the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for texture, tone, and vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (Great sounding home recordings are fine). This Library offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE 50/50 split deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50, and keep 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher gets 100% of the Publisher’s share. You’ll keep 100% of the original version. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis. No full critiques. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD no later than 11:59PM (PST), on Wednesday, June 29th, 2016. TAXI #U160629AS
