This kind of caught my eye... but ... what do we sing in the "happy birthday, dear......." part? And I assume this can be shorter than 2 mins...?

NEW LISTING -- COVERS of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" with Male or Female Vocals in any Genre, Tempo, and Language are needed by a Music Licensing Company with a great track record of awesome TV Placements. Genres that could work for this pitch are (but not limited to): Acoustic Singer/Songwriter, Pop, Country, Electronic, Folk, Punk, R&B, Rock, and any other sub-genre you heart desires!

Give them well-recorded versions of this now Public Domain classic, with instrumentation that fits the genre you choose to submit, and a great, genre-appropriate vocal performance. Anything from stripped-down guitar/vocal versions, all the way up to Big Band could potentially work for this. Emotionally upbeat and warm are two moods that come to mind. You certainly would expect a sad version, but then again, who knows?! Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE agreement with a 50/50 split. The specific terms of this agreement will be determined directly between you and the Library. Because this is an Exclusive deal, please submit music for this pitch that is not already signed to any other Libraries or Publishers. Please submit 1-3 Version online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016. TAXI #Y160727HB

There is also a duplicate listing ID # with this and a RAP BEATS listing due the same day. Could get confusing for posters and screeners alike. I emailed Ryan @ TAXI so hopefully should be cleared up way before the deadline.

Good point about the Dear ___? When we go to the chinese buffet and they play the birthday song it just repeats happy birthday one more time "happy birthday, happy birthday....happy birthday to you!"

I don't think it said no cursing.... I always felt a well placed "muhfugga" works nicely in place of someone's name also

That also could be the part where you're song can stand out... the only space to write an original lyric. "Happy Birthday and we love you....happy birthday to you"

Anyway kidding aside it seems like a fun listing to try something out of the box...or in a very cool box at least :) .. also feels like one that may get a ton of forwards from memebers.

When WE go to the Chinese buffet, they sing, "Happy Birthday, don't waste food, Happy Birthday to you..."

I just emailed he head screener to see what he says. I guess it depends on the version you are going for... a traditional one or two times through, or a song version where you have an instrumental after the singing and then more singing?

You might could try a few alternate lyric versions as well as a blank one... er, a vocal out version; then they could crossfade, if needed. Personally, I'm fond of the Bill Murray line; "...get plastered, you little b*****d/ Happy Birthday To You"
