time limits

When a listing says that submissions should be around 1:30, give or take, what would be the upper limit? I have a track for such a listing. It's clocking at about 2:02, and I'm having trouble figuring out how to shorten it more without sounding awkward. The track, one that I've had laying around for a while, was originally 2:49.

If they say "about" then you might be okay with 1:56. If they say must be 1:30 then you can vary by 5/10 secs either way.

I have been returned for being too long on a listing that asked specifically for lengths of 1:30; I sent in 2:05 mins, and the screener said although there's a bit of leeway it went too far past the line.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I've got it down to 1:49 now. I think that's about as short as this track can go.

1:49 should be fine.
