Suspicious Email List

Hey Guys,

I tried to browse for this topic on the forums did not find anything.

Did any of you get emails from a company that states you have been added to their email list due to a demo they liked from TAXI?

I just received one of these emails and rather than asking to sign the tracks they like from TAXI, they want me to submit to their briefs.

Any thoughts on this?

I got that same email & thought it was kind of odd. Wondered if it was a new approach from a new library that put a listing on TAXI. I recently got a forward but no contact expressing interest in the tune, only the email. I checked them out and they seem legit. I also checked out the info they sent with the email and actually thought it was good.

I purposely got on here to see if anyone else thought this was a strange approach. Glad to see someone else had questions. When I saw the email I assumed this way of contact was something that was OK with TAXI?

Don't get me wrong, It's great to have another contact to submit material too just thought the way I was contacted was odd.

Any thoughts from others or TAXI?

DT

I received the same email. I researched it and the name of the catalog in the signature block didn't match anything but the person's email domain did go to a "non-exclusive catalog" website.

Just got off the phone with TAXI & it appears this is legit. I thought it might be and again, it's great to have an opportunity to submit material too. I just thought it strange because in the past I would get something like this requesting the particular song(s) that were forwarded and from that point on one had the ability to submit to them. So YEA for another avenue into the industry.

Thanks TAXI! No I gotta get crackin', lol

I'm on the list too, and did some research, glad taxi clarified it. I thought it was a bit odd that they did not want MP3 files of potential cues but full mix in wave with stems, alternative mixes and the paperwork all in one folder. Seems like a lot of extra work for all the cues that the reject (for the writers) but handy to have the cues they accept ready to go I guess. Anyway thank you for addressing this and I will definitely give it a go.
All the best and happy writing.

Wow, they cast the net wide on this one - even I got the email :). It makes me think there must be huge number of folk who also got it, so I guess they spotted a way to maximise the benefit of running a Taxi listing :). I was initially suspicious too though, so thanks for checking it out.
