Question about listing Y190320XM

This is for contemporary arrangements of PD Christmas songs. The listing says there are no performance royalties for covers of PD material. I always thought original interpretations of PD material would generate performance royalties since it's a "new" piece?

Hi Loren,

It looks like for this listing there will be no performance royalties paid.... only a sync fee.

I did a cover of Jingle Bells last year that was on a popular show and definitely got performance royalties.
The track I did could not be called 'Jingle Bells'.... it had to have a different name.
My track was called 'Jingle Break'

Yeah, weird. It actually says that we will split the sync fees, but that there are no performance fees on public domain covers. Scratching my head on this one.

I reached out to Taxi for clarification on the listing, so I'll see what they say.

Good....please post their reply.
I do know that splitting the sync fee how it usually works.
