Distinct, complementary A and B sections

Hi,

This is my first post on the forum after joining a few months ago, and I'm really enjoying the experience. I've been fortunate to get a few forwards already but I do have a question in regard to those listings requesting "...distinct, complementary A and B sections. Be sure that while the melody changes, the mood of your pieces stays cohesive throughout.". Does anyone have any public examples that demonstrate this really clearly? I find it easy to miss the mark on these listings by making the sections either too similar or too different. I'm also unsure if the format being requested is specifically AB, i.e. two halves, or if ABA also meets the brief.

Thanks for any insight or examples, and apologies if this is covered already somewhere - I couldn't locate a Taxi TV sessions on the topic but there may well be one of course.

Cheers, Robert
