We have a CD pressed in '98, recording done in '96, but not sure we could locate the original tape, or if it would still be functional if we did. If we submit an mp3 and it's accepted, do you think a WAV ripped off the CD would be good enough for the final submission to the publisher? Thanks!

A wav ripped off a CD would be 44.1K/16 bit so I *think* it would be fine. I don't know if not being able to retrieve the instrumental (no-vocal) track would be an issue or not. I imagine that when publishers are looking for vintage going back that far, this may be expected. However, these are *guesses*. I would submit and discuss it if they contact you.

Good luck!
