The references are Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannine (60's TV sitcoms). References are mono or a very shallow stereo (1960's TV sets). Will they look for a lo-fi mix or do you think they want a stereo mix with depth? I'm new to this and still trying to figure out what the reviewers are looking for.

IMO I would go for a mix with depth and balance over that “vintage” or old quality sound. There are plenty of plugins to make this effect if a music editor wants to make it have that old quality. Compositionally it should sound close / same ballpark as the references.
My two cents.

Thanks for the input Garrett. I decided to use a more modern mix like you suggested. Have a listen and tell me what you think. Would you forward it?

Bewitched and I dream of Jeanie have an over the top, in your face, catchy, shake your hips hook that I didn’t hear in your track. You do have a hook there, but i think it would need to be refined /rearranged. The brass articulations at times sounded synthetic to me along with some bass notes that occasionally didn’t gel with the arrangement. The mix did sound balanced IMO (earbuds). Good instrument choices too but perhaps a more refined arrangement to be closer to the references IMO. So compositionally I don’t think it’s close to the references therefore I would not forward.

My two cents.
