Ok, this one looks like its gonna be seriously tough. I'm looking over this listing:Leading agent for TOP VIDEO GAME COMPOSERS is ready to hear music from TAXI's best and brightest composers. He rarely takes on new clients, but has been impressed with what he's heard from some TAXI members and is willing to hear more. Familiarity with Video Game Scores and their various styles/genres (dramatic, action oriented Orchestral, mood-setting Ambient/Electronic, and Rocktronica) and what makes them different from Film and TV scores is essential. Excellent and current sounding samples/instrument sounds are CRITICAL for this. He wants to hear "composers who are ready for the major leagues and know how to consistently deliver their work product on time and on budget." Please submit examples, clips or montages that TOTAL No More than Four Minutes in Length along with your bio. Please be sure your bio includes your work experience and studio resources. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Thursday, January 7, 2010. And I really notice this part:He wants to hear "composers who are ready for the major leagues and know how to consistently deliver their work product on time and on budget." Please submit examples, clips or montages that TOTAL No More than Four Minutes in Length along with your bio. It's really the examples, clips or montages part that's got me stumped. It seems like they don't want complete pieces of music?? Like you should do sort of a demo reel that moves through a bunch of different snippets?? Am I reading that right? Not sure how to approach this one.B

Hey Bryan...Man... I'm liking this listing alot..I get the feeling the request for a montage is very much to our advantage... cos...We get to show what we can do all in 1 track..I think it's better for us cos often when we get judged on 1 or 2 tracks, that doesn't help to show our full spectrum as a composer...I don't know if I'm 100% right abt the format but that's what I feel abt this one too...Let's see what others opinions reflect...I'm definitely going for this one yea!!!Got a burning hunger for this opportunity..-Kel

I read it and thought of you first, then me. Just so I'm completely clear, you're gonna make a montage of a bunch of different clips of yours and submit that?

A little birdy tells me you should study the music of these guys and then write stuff that blows them out of the water (a pretty tall order ):http://www.inonzur.com/http://www.monar ... o.htmlMake sure you don't copy them, but instead show your own personality thru music that's in the ballpark for these types of applications. If you normally don't play games it would probably be a great idea to rent some of these guys' titles so you can get a feel for the interactivity between music and game play.(This is the kind of stuff you learn at the Road Rally so start saving your money now for next year... )

The same birdy said words to the effect: "Don't send me stuff that's as good as these guys because I already have them. Send me stuff that's better".Again, straight from the Road Rally. That's the challenge. We're gonna have to blow this guy away.Ladies and Gentlemen, start your DAWs.PS: The composers matto mentioned have music on iTunes, I've already been on the scent.
