The bar is High and they have said that they are specifically looking for a modern style of Memphis schooled American Blues. Broadcast quality needed - great sounding home recordings are fine. Anyone got ideas what would be some good artists to listen to for examples on this one? I might call TAXI to get a little more clarification too. Bands that come to mind for me would be acts like 'The Subdudes', 'North Mississippi Allstars', 'Little Feat', and myabe Joe Bonassama (spelling?).ThanksErich

Thanks all for responding. There was never any problem finding Memphis blues musicians -- BB King got started on Beale St as did hosts of others. I was confused with whether they wanted modern recordings of traditional Memphis blues artists, or recordings of modern songs in the Memphis blues tradition. I called TAXI and they confirmed it was the latter.
