OK, I'll admit I got carried away with this one, but damn I had fun doing it!! I'm continuing to learn the whole "mix" thing, and think I'm making progress - but I'll welcome any thoughts and feedback. Also trying to NOT be a jazz player everytime I pick up a guitar. So here is one of my submissions for 'Hush Little Baby":

Hey jazzstan,I love what you did with this! Cool Santana vibe. I bet it was fun to do. I felt the mix was right to my ears. I have headphones on and it sounds nice. Good luck with this one!Rich

Dear Jazz Stan - how excellent is that? Love it - but you can't fool me - jazz just leaks out of every bar! Don't try to hide behind Santana, I know you're there. Michael.

Really nice arrangment! I would do some things with the mix though. It sounds that the piano is panned to one side and the clean guitar to the other side. Try to double the guitar and piano, pan it left to right, maybe the guitar to 50% left/right and the piano 60% left/right to get a better balance. This is just an opinion though. I think the rhytmical pattern will be heard better this way because you are playing different patterns in the guitar then the piano. Maybe some delay on the lead guitar would be nice! The ending was a little strange with the 2 cymbal hits, Maybe some longer cymbal sounds would do the trick!Nicely played!!

Any piece of music that sticks a little Bach in the middle of it gets my vote of approval!Richard

Richard - not only Bach but "Wachet Auf" (Sleepers Awake!) which is a bit of a contrast to the lullaby theme. Ha ha. There's also a bit of Brahms at the end, too. As I said, I had too much fun doing this one!Orest .. I keep listening for, but don't hear the "two cymbals" you mention... there are a couple of high guitar notes in harmony at the end. I did add delay to the guitar, but wanted to be careful to not 'over-do' it. I'm not sure what the tolerance level for film/tv is for those kind of effects. I did the hard pans on piano and guitar, taking the queue from one of the Taxi Drivers Ed classes at the Rally.
