Hey, I'm three hours early...that's a record! If you have any comments, please post them up. My lousy 10+ year old internet laptop has the monkiest sound card ever, so I always doubt my mixes because I listen after I submit. I might get lucky and get to tweak over the weekend...unless the screener is working some O.T. and previews this Saturday morning.Cheers gang!(*Edit Oct 13 & 16: Even more updates and tweaks done. Missed the deadline, but IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SONG anyway, right?*)"On The Line"
http://www.thepondstudio.ca/OTL24.mp3for this posting...ACTION/ADVENTURE/HIGH OCTANE INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a UK-based Production Music Library for Film/TV placement opportunities. They need really high energy tracks (no vocals) for car chase scenes, sports highlights, high suspense action/thrill footage, etc. Current sounding styles would be the best choice here: Rock/Electronica/Hard Rock/etc. A blend of orchestral instrumentation with the mentioned stylistic approaches might also be a great direction to take. They'll be looking for tracks that don't sound overly synth generated - authentic, pulsing and exciting! Your track should be within 1:00-3:00 and they'll mostly want to hear mid to uptempo tracks. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. Broadcast quality needed (great sounding home recordings are OK). Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than October 10, 2008.

Hey Devin - great track! Feels pretty action-y to me. Like the guitar work!! The only thing I'm not sure of is the drums - they seem a little too far back in the mix... are they live? If not, I'd change things up more frequently & work on making them sound more 'human'. I do like it, and I think the guitar lead is really great... but I'm not sure if the rest of the track "pulses", it feels like there isn't much change in the background stuff... and I would think of maybe starting intense, having things flow in and out a little more, and then ending intense... just my take on it, listening to it at the end of a long day. I could be totally out to lunch. Good work.

This would be a great tune for a modern version of a Dukes of Hazard type TV show..that's my opinion on that. The mix could def use some work, I thought the Lead guitar was dry(to dry) and just a tad to much in your face, also the drums maybe could use some more mid range pop to them and but the stereo feel felt right on the drums, and lastly the bass guitar maybe could have a little distortion and some more high end and compression as well..good luck with this one man!! its a nice country action tune.

I like it. Great southern rock feel. I agree w/ the others that the mix could use some work, particularly the drums. And for me, the ending feels a bit unfinished. But I love the guitar stuff you've done! Just my 2 cents.Brad

Hey Devin!Good stuff! Yeah, I'm afraid I'd hafta agree with the others. Gotta' get those drums out there a bit more, can barely hear what's goin' on with them, as a result, they're not DRIVING the song like they should be, ya' feel me? Just my .02.I-468

All good points gang...the link now points to a new mix...I hope I got it in there while the screener was getting their Monday morning cup of coffee before firing up the player!
