Heya everyone -I just joined TAXI again after a long hiatus from music making. I submitted for some listings in early August and have been waiting around to hear something. How long does it usually take from the listing's deadline until you hear if you were forwarded? Does asking for a review increase the amount of time you wait?I'm a little antsy to get any feedback as anything positive would definitely go a long way towards telling me if I'm on the right track and give me that confidence to move forward!-- N

We should start a club... there's LOTS of potential members. Regular listings take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks and my perception is that it's on the longer end of the scale rather than the shorter end. I figure 4 to 5 weeks. It can't happen right away but getting into a mode of "submit and forget", always being focused on writing new music really helped me work through the periods of time where results weren't always "in sync" with my timeframe. N,same here - have never heard in under a month I don't believe.Keep writing - channel those pins and needles into a great song.New to the forum myself, but it seems if you post a link to your music, you can get some great feedback, very quickly.

Well, there is always the psychic hotline . . . I agree with Dave. The Zen approach (letting it go as soon as you submit something) helps a lot in this music biz. Then it's a nice surprise when, lo and behold, you find some nice emails telling you your songs have been forwarded! Or that a forward is now turning into a deal. . . . . . If the psychic hotline isn't an option . . One thing I'm really enjoying on these forums is all the peer-to-peer feedback. You can post a song you're working on and ask for opinions and suggestions. I'm finding that very valuable; not only for my own tunes, but in seeing how those of other composers here develop over time. Howz about we all sign some sort of agreement (or at least pinky-swear) that we're not allowed to wonder about the fate of past submissions until we've each amassed a catalog of 500 songs/pieces??Who's with me?!? Hello??

I think when I get to 500 it will be easier to forget not to start!

If you have upgraded to dispatch and send songs to these listings, the time is around 1 week before you get an answer. You will also notice this in the "forward" section, when people get a forward, or more, they usually tell it there! I have also noticed on thing I can share with you all. If you send music to a "d" or an "y" listing, the same song many times and it is rejected, then you probably should do something about it. I sent one song 3 times and it was rejected, then I did a "makeover" and finally got forwarded (this was a "s" listing).The best way is to keep sending music and write new music all the time and make your existing music even better, take the advices from the screeners as well! I have 50 songs now that I send to different listings, some of the songs still needs to be worked on. ..and..WELCOME!!
