My kick at the King of the Hill

Post by hummingbird » Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:23 pm

what the heck, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Here's my first crack at the listing.xx see below...ONE OF THE PRODUCERS OF "KING OF THE HILL" NEEDS MAIN TITLE FOR NEW SERIES that will be airing on a Major Network. He's looking for a 20 second INSTRUMENTAL that is happy, bright, bouncy, uptempo and makes you want to dance. Stylistically, he wants to hear a cheery song with a world music flavor. This comedy is centered around multi-cultural issues and therefore the "World" element is crucial to capture the true heart of the series.

Hey - nice to hear some other ideas on this listing. There is something about your melody that I really really like. .. my concern would be - Is it cheery, bouncy, happy? (enough) Not quite as up as the reference tracks. Nice.

I think the addition of some sort of bass instrument would pull it together a bit.

My bad.... I was half asleep when I ran this off. This is hopefully better in the bass department, anyway.

This is cool Vikki, I think it's really just gonna come down to what exactly they're looking for. It could maybe benefit from a slightly higher tempo, like earblast mentioned, but otherwise it's really interesting. The other thing I noticed is that the track goes a bit past 20 seconds, although it does sound like the music stops at 20. Probably doesn't matter but thought I'd mention it.Dan

Great production on this one! I felt a great sense of space. The drums give it a good world feel, I think . As I said in another post, world genre is not my thing but I felt it anyway with this one.

Well, I was on the fence about submitting but I reworked it a little and got it in before the deadline. If you aren't too tired of listening to cheery :20 cues....Can't Dance - http://vikkiflawith.com/audio/VIKKI_FLA ... ce.m3uGood luck to everyone who entered -- there have been some great tracks, I've tried to listen to them all
