Dear Chuck,Well I gave your piece a quick listen, and I have to say I love the drums! The form of the piece doesn't seem to follow a Sousa pattern, you only have one section, so I'd say it depends on how close to the "a la" you need to be. The instruments (other than the snare drums) don't sound very "real" to me - that could be an issue also. So there's my two cents. What you've got, as far as it goes, is a good start. Did you listen to Kathleen's piece?--Mer

Hey, Chuck. I do like your march - it grabs me as a Dixieland march much more than a Sousa one. The drums are GREAT, but too jazzy for Sousa. Also, here's a not-so-secret tip - once you submit a song for a listing, you PROBABLY (not guaranteed) have another couple of days that you can mess around with it and re-upload newer versions before the screeners get around to listening to it. Don't take my word for it, but we've gotten off-the-record confirmations of that from the TAXI folks before.I'm still working on editing the live tracks on mine. I promise to post as soon as I'm done.Kathleen

...thanks Kathleen. I decided against the submission. It just wasn't coming together the way I'd liked for it to and I didn't think I had the time to do a proper job of it. The bar is high on these things and it just wasn't happening. Good luck on yours...I'll be anxious to hear it and see how you do on the forward. Thanks again, Chuck
