SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS are needed by the Music Supervisor and the Producer of a Feature Documentary a la "What The Bleep Do We Know". The Music Supervisor will be screening this material himself. He's looking for a variety of material, from simple acoustic guitar/vocal to fully produced tracks. This is a broadcast quality listing, so the performance needs to be excellent -- but if the arrangement is sparse, that's just fine. Lyrically, he's primarily looking for songs that have positive messages and songs about change. He's really wanting to find poignant, emotional material for this film. No artist references were given for this listing, as he's open to a very wide variety of material, but a timeless and/or current sound would be advisable. Male or female vocals are just fine. The budget is TBA, but there will be modest Master/Sync fees paid if your song(s) are used. Please submit one to three Hi guys.... I think this was a Dispatch Listing originally.... any forwards? Just curious, not familar with the documentary and I'm trying to narrow down my subs....Thanks, Geo

hey Geo, Sometimes knowing what NOT to do is important... to that end, my submission "Choose the Way You Feel" was denied and rejected for the dispatch version of the listing. Maybe this wasn't singer songwriter enough? I rolled the dice since they said they were looking for a variety of material.Good luck--

I think Bill G got forwarded for this for Compliments in Lavendar (don't quote me though) and Vikki and I got through on a long shot with Sirens of the Moon. See the forwards section for links, jes look for Hummingbird's post and Bill's too.The movie's a documentary about the connectedness of all things. They interviewed physicists, musicians, artists, mathematicians, Buddhist monks, preachers, etc. Interesting movie, good for discussion.

I submitted Sirens of the Moon because I felt it totally fit this line in the listing "He's really wanting to find poignant, emotional material for this film," plus "looking for a variety of material. Very pleased to get the forward. Big kiss to my fellow conspirator If you got a return, I know that's a downer - but, in a way, you already had a 'forward' because the actual music supervisor did the screening. Therefore one would think he only chose the pieces he felt fit what the producer/director/editor are looking for. I imagine the forwarded pieces still have to go through more decision-making before anyone is contacted.

Nita is correct Geo, Compliment In Lavender was forwarded for that.

Is this Singer/Songwriter listing still open? Or more to the point, does this genre come up a lot? I imagine that a lot of my songs could be considered S/S genre. I usually kind of tell a story in my songs. Here's an example that I submitted in Christian, because it's about a spiritual awakening. The song is called, "Get There."
http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=1Please tell me if this would be considered Singer/SongwriterBTW it now had female BGV's but it is awaiting a new drum track.
