Hey friends,I am curious about these two listings... wide range of commercial-sounding NEW AGE ARTISTS are sought by an Independent Music Distributor with Major Distribution affiliation. They want song-oriented Ethnic Fusion artists in the range of Enya, Deep Forest, Dead Can Dance, Enigma, Clannad, etc. The deal begins as a 90-day digital distribution deal, with exclusivity. If you sell 500+ units within that period, this company offers full retail & general distribution in North America - in stores such as Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc. This is a great opportunity, but please provide the full CD or have it on hand to be considered They're looking to license completed CDs only, so PLEASE only submit if you have a full CD with a UPC barcode. For those submitting online, if you're forwarded we will contact you for your full CD, so be sure you have it readily on hand to send to us so that we can get it to the distributor in the form he's requested. Songs must be Master Quality. IMPORTANT: your CD must have a 12-digit UPC barcode. . Please submit two to three songs online OR for ground submissions submit your FULL CD indicating which 2-3 songs you want screened; include photo and bio, if you don't submit a CD with full artwork & info. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Apr. 14, 2008. TAXI #Y080414NASubmit to this listing TAXI # Y080414NA----------------------New Listing NEW AGE/MEDITATION ARTISTS "with a twist" are wanted by the VP of A&R at an International Independent Record Label with worldwide distribution. This label specializes in New Age and World Music and is extremely high-profile in those circles. They're looking for more than just the easy listening New Age of the past - they'd like to hear some Electronica influences and contemporary/cutting edge soundscapes. They're very interested in artists who have established themselves online, with some sales and a bit of touring experience. These things aren't necessary to submit, but please don't forget to submit a photo/bio regardless of your experience/history. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include photo/bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than April 30, 2008. TAXI #S080430NASubmit to this listing TAXI # S080430NA--------------------------do you think these are from the same company?i am curious because the 1st listing does not ask for instrumentalsonly..as the 2nd one does...so i was wondering if i should send only vocal tracks to the 1stand of course instrumentals to the 2nd...if they are not the same company, i may want to think differentabout that 1st listingSeeing both of these listings BLEW MY MIND because every singleartist referenced, is one of my all time fav bands/artists(well with maybe one exception)jus pickin' your brain if i may: )peacegeoff

hey geoff,I'm fixin' to head to work but wanted to pop in and respond to this with a question of my own that might help you......the listings appear to want different things....one a distribution deal, the other sounds like a label deal. Would you be interested in a label deal? If you are, possibly (remember I said that, lol) the best way is to follow their guidelines by submitting through their preferred channels (at least the ones they're using through taxi). It's only five bucks, right? It sounds like the same company but different divisions. This probably only means a separate pile of tunes on someone's desk but you have double the chance of being heard that way too. Jes a thought. Hope you get some more input and best of luck to you, I think you'd be great for both of these!Your fan,Squids
