That's probably because this particular Beethoven piece is often used that way. I don't have the text of the listing so I don't know exactly what they asked for unless "rock arrangements of classical pieces" is all there really is to say. I listened through headphones and thought the drum was a little too prominent. But don't listen to me there-- production and mixing is not my area. I'm curious if anyone else thought the drum was a touch too loud. But I really think the track is a winner!Fun track! Best of luck! Casey

hey chuck,I find the lead guitar to be the best part of your peace.however, the drums and bass (especially in the A-section (hihats used)) sound very midi-like to me, which lowers the quality of the track as whole quite a lot I think.just my 2 cents;)cheers,martin

I like what you have done. I especially like the guitar duet you have in there.I agree with Casey on the drums. To me, it's the snare that stand out too much and as martin says sounds too midi-like. (He already mentioned the hi-hats).Trent

Hi ChuckI really love everything except the drums. I still find them distracting and, for lack of a better word (this is not mean at all), annoying. They just take away from everything else GREAT that is going on. How soon is the deadline on this? Can someone else help you with that?It really rocks. Hi Chuck,I didn't hear the first version but I think the drums are appropriate for the style, sounds like you used EZ drummer, nice and fat.I have a question about the chords, just in one spot. At the end of the first phrase, you return to the I chord 2 beats too soon, to my ears, at least the way I remember the original. It seems like it should stay on the V chord a little longer. Everything else feels right, harmonically. Just a minor issue (well major, but you know what I mean!!)Nice guitar tones and playing, of course!! Good work as usual, Chuck!Mazz

If Mazz says the drums are fine, I'd give that a heck of a lot more weight than what I said... Can't argue with that much experience... Casey

Mazz,I recorded the rhythm guitar part first and then the melody. I think I just got used to the one chord coming in early. I'm going to revisit and fix it.The drum track is EZ Drummer. (BTW, a couple new expansion packages are soon to be released, one a jazz kit, not sure of any jazz brushes. Also there is a sale on currently, three for the price of two)The guitars are from the new Roland VG99. I've used four different distorted tones. I haven't done a track like this so it was kind of fun to layer the guitars.Thanks for your and Casey's feedback(that's a technical guitar player word) Chuck

Hi Casey,Our posts must have hit at the same time cause I wasn't responding to yours, I was responding to Chuck's saying that he changed the drums and mix. I think your opinion is valid and your ears are hearing something that's bugging you and that's fine. I'd be interested in knowing what you are hearing and/or feeling because I miss a lot by listening too much with an engineer's ears!I want to learn from you too!Mazz
