What's the policy on submitting to a listing that wants "tracks in the :10 to :30 range? Do I have to pay $5 per :10 second cue or can I do, say, a montage of three :10 pieces & submit 2 others?UPTEMPO, CONTMPORARY PROMO MUSIC (:10, :15, :30 versions) -- are needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher that has signed & placed dozens of TAXI songs through the years. He's open to current-sounding tracks that are in line with what is being used for News Programs, MTV, Court TV, Lifetime -- and everything in between. He wants tracks that are in the :10 to :30 range.H

Also, music libraries will never be able to use a montage so crowbar your pocketbook open, pull out a five-spot for each submission and focus on how E-A-S-Y it'll be to create only 10 seconds of music three times.

Well, I just think it's ridiculous to have to pay $5 to submit a :10 piece. I paid $5 to submit :30, but that's where I draw the line . So I'll make myself happy by submitting three :30.H

Good call, Dave. And I understand how you feel, Vikki ... believe you, me. But (FINALLY getting the chance to watch the interviews with Matt) the other night, I was inspired to give some creedance to my snippets. I have 5-10 of them that could stand on their own as :30 spots, and a forward is a forward is a forward. They can grow up into fully-fleshed-out tunes later... And besides, you are on the verge of your first tastes of REAL success. Now is NOT the time to start questioning your commitment to your music/yourself. You've worked too hard (and grown too much) to worry about a measly fiver. <hhh> (Sorry, I swear I don't mean to mock you. I promise ... I have to practically consult a psychic before I'll click the "proceed to check-out" button these days.) Ted

But what if that 10 second track became the theme that plays for the next 10 years 5 times a day? How much money would that return?Just a thought.Mazz

Now your 10 second track never did anything but one or two of the 50 tracks that you submitted after you got the original deal are placed and played on a continuous basis.Gotta think about how to make it a stepping stone to something better if the deal itself doesn't sound attractive. Thank you... that'll be $50.

It was only a matter of time before you became too expensive to talk to.
