I'm seeing library listings with details like "5 year reversion clause" but no mention about whether the library is offering exclusive or non-exclusive deals.This is a definite problem for anyone such as myself who has non exclusive agreements in place already and is interestred in pursuing more of the same.When this basic info isn't in the listing, I have to decide whether to gamble wasting my money and wasting everyone's time pursuing a listing that will have no chance of working if the library only does exclusive deals.

I sent this on to the powers that be. From now on we will try to include this information WHEN it is available to us.

Bejeebers,If that information is not in the listing then I assume it is because the company does not offer non-exclusive contracts. If they did, I think they would use it as a selling point to attract more submissions. I cannot outguess them so I have to make assumptions.

FYI, I have submitted to listings stating they were exclusive. But then the company contacted me about a contract and it ended up being a retitle contract, so the retitled song is exclusive but the song itself is non-exclusive. I don't know what the moral of the story is...maybe submit the songs anyways. Also (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) I believe sometimes you can still sign an exclusive contract even though your songs are in other libraries. Just as long as you let the exclusive contract know that the song is already signed to other non-exclusive contracts and you agree to not sign anymore contracts. It all depends on how badly the company wants your song.-Theresa
