Hey... I just thought it was a bit odd for these listings to ask for "Christian Instrumentals". I've always thought of "Christian' as lyric based music that is produced in a variety of genres. That's a pretty interesting listing. It seems like it's lumped in there rather than being a separate listing. Of course it is the lyric that makes it Christian. If they're wanting Rock/Metal instrumentals, don't go soft because of the Christian aspect. Hope you're inspired. Reverend Dave

I arrange a lot of hymns for non-traditional instrumental setting - you could certainly rock out a hymn...for example, though he sings it, Phil Keaggy does an interesting version of "Be Thou My Vision" with some great electric guitars and drums. That tune could have easily been done as a rock instrumental.

If you took the vocal off When A Man Loves A Woman (Percy Sludge,misspelling intended) and replaced it with a Hammond top line that would sound Christian/Hymnal.Casey,I can see now why we don't get on me being a good Catholic boy and all.. J.

That's a pretty tame confusion Vikki. There was one recently asking for instrumentals and saying either male or female vocals were okay. I figured they must mean yodelling. Maybe they wanted Christian yodelling (though it didn't specify that).

I've seen a few listings for "Original" Christmas/Holiday instrumentals that don't make sense to me as well...Perhaps, the next time I see something like that again, I'll post it as well...

Another thought...a music library may want an instrumental piece that sounds like a certain band (you know, without having to pay that band), say Third Day. Though not really an instrumental band, Third Day certainly does have a distinctive sound musically that Christian rock listeners would recognize. I can usually spot a Third Day song in the first three seconds during the song intro before the vocals...
