New Listing New York Production Company/Publisher working for a World-Class Ad Agency needs SONGS that capture the spirit, style, and attitude of the Kate Nash song "Mouthwash." Use this track as a guide ONLY! Use it as inspiration, but be extra careful not to copy the referenced song in any way. They want to hear ORIGINAL, beat-inspired songs, not melodic or lyrical copies. Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson also serve as solid examples of the style/vibe that's needed. The song should be cool and contemporary with a credible vibe, but NOT dark or edgy. Think fun, upbeat, pop, light, and playful. Lyrically, the tune must be positive and while there is no lyrical specification, songs utilizing the word "Amazing" (amazing things, amazing life, etc.) will get the most attention from this agency. Vocals need to fit the attitude of the track and be emotive and engaging. This track would ultimately be used in national TV spots for an iconic, internationally recognized brand. This golden opportunity has a really high bar, so the song must be undeniable. Keeping the intro short and getting to the hook in a hurry would be a smart approach. Please submit one to three tracks online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 2pm on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. TAXI #Y100609MW

Submit to this listing TAXI # Y100609MW

This may be a dumb question, but I was wondering if we have to have a female vocal on submissions to this listing? I'm sure it's probably best given the a la's, but it doesn't specify that in the listing.......

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! :D

I'm assuming this is a Dispatch listing, but although I had signed up a couple of weeks ago to receive the emails and had begun receiving them, I do not recall this listing and my searches of my inbox do not reflect it. Do you recall when you received it? Thanks.

It doesn't say specifically but the example certainly implies that it's a female vocal that they're basing the request on. This is a high bar listing ("really high bar") so I think that having a male vocal, you'd not only have to make the original high bar but then very likely have to push past their pre-conceived idea of what they wanted (a track that's similar to three various female artists).

In the video thing yesterday the screener said the simple thing... "Just give them what they ask for". ;)

Yeah, this listing didn't show up until last night. On the submit music tab it's not listed under Dispatch, it's just under Singer/Songwriter for film and tv.
I'm assuming I will have to have a female vocal. I know of a few female vocalists, but not sure if their voices are suitable for the referenced artists. Exciting listing but it's gonna be tough to pull this one off!
