Reading into this listing

Hi; Just wanted some thoughts on this listing:
INSTRUMENTALS in the eclectic range of Manu Chao, needed by a Music Supervisor working with a Major Music Publisher/ Library to market songs internationally. Although Manu Chao's music does cover a wide range of genres including Rock, French Chanson, Spanish-American Salsa, Reggae, Ska and Algerian Rai, all of these genres represent his unique songwriting abilities and overall feel. Your track should evoke a locale and create a mood, atmosphere, and energy level. A street vibe is fine as long as the track is authentic, and the arrangement is tight. Tracks should be broadcast quality using authentic instruments. Please submit one to three instrumentals or songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 2:00pm (PST) on Friday, September 27, 2010. TAXI #D100927IN
After listening to his music, it is very guitar oriented. So if they hear another instrument playing the lead will that lead to a reject? They don't say "must be guitar" but do they mean that?
Anyway, the two songs I was thinking of are on my Taxi page:
Ano Nuevo
Bossa Blue

I realize that my harmony is more sophisticated and I play trumpet (which is two strikes against me unless it's jazz), but I have been fitting in elsewhere.
Any thoughts are welcome.

Thanks!!~

Hi Eric...I really like your tone and your tunes are sublime....that said I don't think I understand this listing. period. since Manu Chao is a vocalist all his stuff is pretty much charaterized by his vocal style which to my ears is pretty obnoxious and mostly Raggae influenced. Of course that's just my first impression. Your stuff is way more sophisticated - not to mention pretty.

You're a straight ahead jazz guy. Not that you couldn't sound like this guy but why would you want to?

Just my opinion of course.

Thanks Richard! No I wouldn't want to sound like the guy.
We'll just got the reject on this one. Interesting as it ties into another thread on screener consistancy.
I keep a spreadsheet of all my songs and Taxi results. The song Ano Nuevo has been screened by #53 six times. 3 forwards and 3 returns.
That's good for Taxi and I thank #53 for his belief in my music.
This last return is the odd one because he checked "recording". Now I understand that things change from listing to listing as far as style, but if a song has a good enough recording for one listing, wouldn't that mean it's good enough for ALL listings? Don't see how the recording quality can be judged differently from listing to listing.

Any thoughts?

Eric...I am no expert on recording quality as I have been engineering my own stuff for just a few months but perhaps the screener heard some little problem that if fixed could make your tune better and figured he was helping you out by not checking 'style' or 'music'.

Just a shot in the dark.
