Just wanted to say thianks to the listing party who screened as #326 for listing Y120113TV.

I got 2 returns but in each case, the screener (a music sup) provided one sentence as to why the track was not a fit. Much appreciated! That extra effort means a lot!

Thanks!

Cable Network Music Supervisor needs a CONTEMPORARY, INSPIRING, HIGH ENERGY INDIE ROCK SONG **or** INSTRUMENTAL TRACK for the MAIN TITLE on a new Reality Show on a large cable network. Quoting the Supervisor: "Music beds should be uptempo and/or fast-paced, with a slightly mechanical rhythmic foundation that can underscore active men and women busy with physical tasks involving construction. It should be motivating but not sentimental, more of a 'let's get down to business' feel. Editors like things that are easy to cut to, meaning abrupt, brief dynamic change-ups, short percussive breakdowns and a definitive (buttoned) ending. Network producers like things with an easily memorable, quickly registering hook." The Supervisor adds, "Keep it playful, but somewhat edgy. The network does NOT want languid or dreamy/inspirational. Keep your songs CONTEMPORARY and INDIE (no Folk, no Country). Electronica with a little attitude can work just as well as edgy guitar songs a la White Stripes. Nothing too teen or Pop oriented, please!" If you submit a SONG, LYRIC THEMES should work well with smart, thinking teams busily building contraptions. Do not be too specific! But skew towards ideas like "If we can think it, we can build it," "They said we couldn't, but we can!" etc. etc. Keep your lyrics positive and motivational! The Supervisor also told us, "There may or may not be upfront sync money on this placement, but the winning song will be used non-exclusively, and the copyright holders will receive 50% of publishing on this placement; writers will receive full writers. This has good back-end potential, especially if the show is a hit, as these types of shows often air repeatedly in many different countries." You must own 100% of your composition and master. Please SUBMIT LYRICS if applicable. ALL submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS by the Music Supervisor HERSELF. No full critiques from TAXI. The Supervisor/Network will contact you directly if they are interested. Submissions must be received no later than FRIDAY, January 13th, at 4pm (PST). TAXI # Y120113TV

I love it when they do that, too! Definitely shows how hard they all work, and how seriously they take our efforts.

I sent in " La Grinder construct "
I new it might be too heavy ( the guitars ) but rhythmically, it worked.
They wanted a White Stripe type guitar and guess what ?
The comment was " guitars a little too heavy "
Sometimes you know in your gut whether it will pass, but you try anyways.

"Sometimes you know in your gut whether it will pass, but you try anyways."

Ain't that the truth?

I struggle with that too. I tend to fall in love with my tracks. And I think they will work when a rational person would know better. But I've gotten better lately.
