So this listing is in the Instrumental section:

"Well-respected Production Music Library needs (and we're quoting them directly here), "Talented, intuitive, and versatile INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS to build an ongoing relationship with. We are specifically looking for composers who can work well with our producers and incorporate the feedback and suggestions they'll get from us. Stylistically, we're looking for high energy, driving, positive Instrumental music that spans the CONTEMPORARY, CHARTING, ROCK, INDIE ROCK, and INDIE POP genres that include [but not limited to] artists like, MGMT, The Black Keys, Coldplay, The Naked and Famous, Neon Trees, Of Monsters and Men, Fun., etc." The tracks you submit for this listing are being considered as EXAMPLES of the quality of your work. If you pass the "test," ultimately the company will give you writing assignments for the types of music they need. . ." (emphasis mine)

So, if I understand this right, could I submit a track that's already spoken for (signed to an exclusive library) since as I read it this is basically just an audition track which they wouldn't end up using anyway?

Yes, that's how I read it. Show them what you are capable of.

Best of luck!

So...did anyone end up submitting to this one?

I did, but still haven't gotten the result back, yet, and it's been more than the 10-30 days for which I'm obligated to maintain the pretense of patience. :D

I did submit to this one, and I got forwarded ("Geek Love 2" on my Taxi page). But I haven't heard from anyone yet. It's been a couple months by now. (Although that's not too uncommon of a wait. And you'll often hear stories of people waiting far longer too).

Funny enough though, since then I've submitted to, got forwarded, and heard back from another company on another listing. That company got back to me rather quickly (within a couple of weeks).

So, the moral of the story is that you just never know. . .
