Classical Instruments listing

Hi All... I'm not sure if they want orchestral arrangements of these pieces, or any instrumentation. Any ideas?CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an LA Music Publisher for a current film, specifically these selections: Allegri "Miserere", Delibes - the Opera Lakme - "Flower Duet" and Bach "Air on G String". He only wants to hear arrangements of the mentioned songs, as the film's music needs are quite specific. The President of the company will be screening these submissions himself. Performances must be excellent and broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by Noon PST on Friday, March 14, 2008. TAXI #D080314CLCharlie

The only piece I'm familiar with is the Bach piece and I've played an arrangement of it on piano for many a wedding. Might be worth a shot since they do mention arrangements, not recordings of the original score. Lots of Bach's music works in many different arrangements. I wouldn't stray too far from "traditional" instrumentation but after that, it might be pretty open.Mazz

Hey Mazz,I, too, have played the Bach too many times at weddings...I was just thinking out loud as to whether or not they needed to replace orchestral versions of the song, or maybe we could jazz it up a bit!I went to the Yahoo jukebox today and found a huge range of versions...classical guitar, orchestral, piano trio, I guess the skies the limit, or how much time I have to work on it is more like itGood luck if you're going to submit...I'm still trying to find an angleCharlie

The flower duet is very beautiful. There's a piano version in the movie The Hunger, with David Bowie.

I had the famous bit of the Flower Duet with classical guitar in the middle of another composition (with guitar phrasing). It's less than 40 seconds long. The singing is pleasant though.I know it's a very unlikely forward but I thought "all I stand to lose is $5" so I submitted it anyway. Best of luck with your piece,Ruth
