Hi... I submitted an instrumental piece to this listing:Cheesy, corny, and comical CARTOON/GAME SHOW MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) very similar to those used in cartoons and game shows from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s are needed by an East Coast Music Publisher that has worked with TAXI for years and has connections with many cable and network TV shows. He mentioned shows such as the Newlywed Game, the Gong Show, and the Dating Game as great examples of the style of instrumental tracks he's seeking--funny, corny, wacky-type stuff. And think of all of the classic cartoons from that era as well - Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera productions especially. Your pieces should be between 1:00 to 3:00 minutes in length. This company offers an exclusive deal with a reversion clause (typically 5 years). Broadcast quality needed [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK].I think what I submitted is good, but doesn't quite fit the parameters of the listing... Vikki,This is a cool piece. After looking the listing over again, I might be inclined to think that this heads towards cartoon music. The thing about cartoon music, though, (especially the Warner Bros. stuff, if memory serves) is that it seems to be more "in your face" slapstick and less like a piece of music, which seems like a contradiction. I think there's a narrative in cartoon music that could probably be heard even if there were no picture. In your case, I hear the Toy Parade but I'd like to hear some of the toys "fall down" or lose an arm or get in to a fight or something. I think this could be achieved by putting in a stop where it shouldn't be and maybe a couple of 5/4 bars or something to break it up and make it more "cartoony".These are small points and, of course, my opinion only. This is a good piece for your catalog and would work for a circus listing, we've seen those before!Mazz

Hi Vikki - very well done! Nice mix and really cool writing. I like it as a musical piece as it is. I agree with Mazz re: "cartoon" use. This is only based on my all too frequent youthful watching of bugs bunny et all, scooby doo, underdog, speed racer, flintstones, and other 70s classics. I'd put in some little pauses, breaks, and other tricks to make it less musical (gulp!) and catch the listener off guard, maybe a little less perfectly timed between the intro and the body. I can hear the ideas in my head when I listen to it - I'm just not expressing them very well. I've been taking classes all day and am a little brain dead.I will take a stab at it later after a few more listens - Anne
