Well... I thought this was going to be quite difficult, but we found some common ground between the psychedelic stuff that's become our "thing" and this listing:BEACH VOLLEYBALL SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the Music Supervisor of a major cable TV network for their upcoming broadcasts of the AVP Tour (pro beach volleyball). Think beach, surf, sand, sun, hot bodies, bikinis, fun, playing to win, etc., etc. Style-wise, they’re pretty open, but focus on Reggae, Modern Pop/Rock, and Beach Rock. Some of the bands they mentioned are Slightly Stoopid, Sublime, and Citizen Cope. Also think Smashmouth, 311, the Long Beach Dub Allstars, Jack Johnson, Colbie Caillat, and G. Love & Special Sauce - music that taps into the cool, young, hip lifestyle of the beach volleyball scene. They asked us to be extra selective when screening for this project. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Aub,Some really cool lyrics (for example, summer time specialist). Since I've had many years and some success in Reggae, I thought I'd give you some genre-specific feedback. The main thing that sticks out is the guitar tone, Reggae guitar has dry staccatto tone, I don't play guitar so I can't tell you how, but if you can match that tone it will make your track sound more authentic. The drum track sounds good but not Reggae. Actually, now that I think about it, the bands they mentioned aren't Jamaican so maybe your track is fine for what they're looking for. Just a couple of cents.Nomi
