AMERICANA/FOLK type INSTRUMENTALS in the wide stylistic range of Uncle Tupelo, The Jayhawks, Lucinda Williams, Dave Alvin, Wilco, etc., needed by the President/CEO of a Sports Training Music Website. Tracks can range in tempo from 60 to 145 bpm. He specifically stated that all tracks must be recorded with a steady beat (to a metronome or click). Recording and instrumental demo presentation must be top-notch! The compensation for usage of your music is 15 cents per download and a artist profile/link on their site. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon
(PST) on Monday, December 14, 2009. TAXI #D091214AM

Man, there's a real broad range of material here: from Lucinda Willians 'Words Fell', to Uncle Tupelo's 'No Depression" to some of the 'rockier' entries by Wilco. I always get a little nervous when the listing says 'In the wide stylistic range of...' My tendency is to find a song from one of the artists that I dig and emulate it, then get a return for 'off target stylistically'.

Anyone looking at submitting for this? The 'AMERICANA\FOLK' makes me want to go towards more acoustic, folky stuff. I'll probably give taxi a call too.

Teleblaster,
I was confused as well.. when you go look up some of them, they are listed as "Rock"...
I submitted and got shot down... torn as to how to deal with melodies vs soloing.
The check boxes help, but not enough.
I think they could a least put a quick note that would give you a little more info, would take about 30 seconds... I pay more for dispatch and I would like a little more feedback.
If anyone got one through on this, I would really like to hear it so I can learn from this.
