Rhythm Of The Blues

Something a bit Eurovision (that's the hope anyway)

Rhythm Of The Blues
(S. Telford)

Another chorus I don't know
comforts me on the radio.
Sings a song I've never heard
but I believe in every word.
I close my eyes and think of you
And wonder if you feel that too.

I've been lonely
I've been down
I've been crying to the sound.

It's the voice I long to hear
It's the noise inside my ear
It's the emptiness I wish I could lose.
It's every ending, every bruise.
It's just the rhythm of the blues.

Another nightmare I can't shake
Another reason I'm awake.
Hear rain tapping at the door
Brings me down on to the floor
I close my eyes and think of you
And wonder if you feel that too.

I've been lonely
I've been down
I've been crying to the sound.

It's the voice I long to hear
It's the noise inside my ear
It's the emptiness I wish I could lose.
It's every ending, every bruise.
It's just the rhythm of the blues.

I've been lonely
I've been down
I've been broken
On the ground
I've been crying to the sound.

It's the voice I long to hear
It's the noise inside my ear
It's the emptiness I wish I could lose.
It's every ending, every bruise.
It's just the rhythm of the blues.

Hey I really like the lyrics :) Do you have a recording of it? i'd like to see how the rhythm works with the line "The emptiness I wish I could lose"

I'm just a lyricist unfortunately. So unless someone collaborates with me it's just words! But I'm encouraged by your kind words!

Hey Shane

Really like this, well written.
Love the first verse, sums up that first listen feeling perfectly.
Like the lines:

It's the emptiness I wish I could lose
It's every ending, every bruise

I can hear a tune in my head, though unfortunately I'm like yourself and just a lyricist.
Hope fully someone on here or elsewhere will pick it out and record it.

Good luck with it
Roger
