Definitely grown up lyrics...the picture it paints for me is that this person is married/in a relationship but has found a connection with someone else, hence "affair of the heart." Definitely resonates as a forbidden love song...You may love the person you are with but you are IN LOVE with this new person. Interesting concept I see synching well with a scene about an office romance or where a marriage is clearly over but no divorce has taken place. I know you are a veteran at this, but I think it's a strong song. I really like the chorus.
