What, pray tell, are 'douglers'?

I don't think "interior girls" will immediately communicate to most English speakers.

Good catch! I assumed that the 'interior' of the land would be the countryside. But apparently not from the context. "The country girls and the interior girls" would be the same in my understanding.

" Doughlers" are the mix race. People who are mix race in Guyana we call them Doughler. (And that's when you're mix with the black race)
