“A Friend”Ryan started drinkin’ again,Lost his wife, Lost his best friend,His momma’s scarred,That this time he’s gone to far.(Chorus)And Ryan’s tryin to cope,With this and ya know,He’s gonna have a hard time,Without her in his life,He’s gonna need a friendRyan’s goin’ to church,But still don’t understand,Why this is part of God’s plan,And its plain to see, he still misses her.(Chorus)And Ryan’s tryin to cope,With this and ya know,He’s gonna have a hard time,Without her in his life,He’s gonna need a friendBridge:So he’s at the bar, and he see’s her ghost,She says I’m ashamed of you, you know(Chorus)And Ryan’s tryin to cope,With this and ya know,He’s gonna have a hard time,But she’s still a part of his lifeBut he’s gonna need a friendCopyright 2006 Matt Lee

The end of a love affair is a good place to write a song. I recommend showing more in this lyric. It's all tell right now. This lyric is an effect. I suggest zeroing in on the cause of all this. Go into detail. What is the setting? Good start.....................peace!
