Two young lovers walking hand in hand
Cotton candy, photo booths and bumper cars
Roller coaster climbing
To the stars
Young man down on one knee
Promising forevermore
When she said “yes”
That place became
The boardwalk on forever’s shore
Used cars, overtime and bassinettes
Home cooked ham and fixins for the holidays
Lawn chairs were their weekend
Getaways
Though they lived day to day
They saw what was in store
Their eyes of love,
Were mirrors of
A boardwalk on forever’s shore
It’s as if their youth
Was a slowly fading mist
Yet a photo booth
Captured their cotton candy kiss
And that old photograph
Helps him look ahead once more
To a starry night,
They’ll stroll upon
