The Power of OneShe went to see him for migraines, but he still made her undressthe hair on her neck stood up, when he leaned in for a kissshe pushed him away and, grabbed her jeans and peasant tophe said he'd make her life hard, if she told the copsand all the law would say was, it's his word against hersand between her and a doctor, few would take one woman's wordbut ev'ryone believed her, when the story hit the newscos other women came forward, and he went to jail thanks tothe power of onewho wouldn't take it any longerone who stood tall and stood her groundback against the wall who wouldn't back downsometimes nothing is strongerthan the power of oneshe useta watch the corner, from the rocker on her porchsee gangbangers passing money, and baggies back n forthgirls hadn't skipped rope, on the sidewalk in yearspeople kept their shades pulled, and stayed quiet in fearthen she bought a cheap camera, took pictures of what went ongave them to the sheriff, forcing him to get things doneshe got threats and nasty phonecalls, but that old gal hung toughin time her street was safe once more, and all because ofthe power of onewho wouldn't take it any longerone who stood tall and stood her groundback against the wall who wouldn't back downsometimes nothing is strongerthan the power of onewhen all seems close to defeatmaybe what we really needis the power of one...(c)2007 Robert George
