Grains of Sand and Blades of GrassParked my car in the sandlot, I might as well just walksome roads are taken best on foot, plus it gives us time to talknow when it comes to planning, this might not be the placebut sometimes seeds of morning, are sown with secret gracestill, faith gets hard to define, when day becomes night too fastbut sometimes water turns to wine, and grains of sand sprout blades of grassI climb a clover hillside, to a patch of brilliant greenas a breeze blows through a willow, like colors through a dreambut soon that grass will wither, and surrender to the windjust as men release their spirit, when winter rolls on inbut the hope of April growth, is all this lonely hilltop hasnow that it can be home to both, grains of sand and blades of grasswhether it's summer or freezin'sand is always in seasonit remains while green grass goesbut rest assured heaven knowsthe riddle and the reasonand wind carries you my whispers, as I lay my roses downmy Brother when the Good Lord rides, no grave will stand its groundcos some things lose their breath, but others are bred to lastthat's what divides soul and flesh, like grains of sand and blades of grass(c)2006 Robert George
