Senses of the HeartTheir son dropped them near the path, to the lake that daythey walked to the shoreline, holding hands all the waythough he's been blind for years, she can't hear much no morethey saw and heard their mem'ries, standing by the shorehe saw a boy of fifteen, who'd got his girl alonetheir shadows on that lakeside, were their only chaperonesbut as the summer moonlight, sifted trough the mistthey just watched it tread water, and shared an Eskimo kissthough that old man's sight, had gradually grown darkhe still saw her beauty, with senses of the heartwith him by the water, she heard ripples of timeHank song on a transistor, soft breeze through the pinesshe nearly wondered that night, if the wind asked for her handcos he spoke in nervous whispers, as they lay there on the sandthe echo of her answer, should've seemed faded and farbut she heard it clearly, with senses of the heartwell, they go there ev'ry yearonly they know what they see and heartheir son watches silouhettes in the mistwelcome moonlight with an Eskimo kissthey remain hand in hand walking back to his carand he feels their love with senses of the heart(c)2006 Robert George
