Draw Me Step by step, mile after mileEvery tick-tock of the clock, every triumph, every trialAll the fleeting moments gone forever moreLike a strong ocean current, draws me to Your doorLike an hourglass that's turned upside downSand keeps on falling with every smile and every frownTime keeps on moving, gone forever moreLike a leaf in a hurricane, blown right to Your doorNo matter where I go, Father, You will find meOn the highest mountain top, to the deepest, bluest seaIf I'm tangled in my sins, You're the one who sets me freeIf I forget Your name, You are there to remind meI'm Your childNow through a glass darkly, then face to faceFrom this earthbound life, to a place with no time or spaceAll the pain I suffered gone forever moreLike steel pulled to a magnet, draws me to Your door

Soterio,I like your imagery, and the Title. I got a little confused about what the references to "time" were about, in other words....how does that draw us to God. I thought your phrasing was well done. I would try to avoid all the same old illiterations that everyone else has used...(mountain top, to the deepest sea). All in all....a nice bit o' verse!

Rockinthebox: Thanks for the comments! Yeah, I do get lazy sometimesand get a little cliched with the lyrics. Actually the songwas inspired by Psalm 139 and a song by Def Leppardcalled, "Hysteria." It's the only tune I've recorded in adifferent tuning, D tuning, as I recall. Kind of an unusualmixture of influences. As far as the time element; it's probably just becauseI'm getting older and my thinking seems to be more andmore directed to spiritual matters. When I was younger, that was hardly ever on my mind.
