"Shameless"... :?  indeed.

Here's my one-time exposure on You Tube: posted from someone's iPhone,
when I sat as a fill-in on drums for a gig with a local band: The Sickstring Outlaws.
(they texted me in reply to a Craigslist ad) I hadn't even heard of Outlaw Country.
(... and I didn't shoot that man in Reno just to watch him die...) 8-)

Pretty raw and simple; but it was a lot of fun.
Even made a few bucks for gas! HA!! Love me some pedal-steel. :) :)

Shamelessly: cheers!

Gracias, Mr. B.
In the words of Eeyore: "thanks for noticin' me..."
Guess that's what shameless is all about, eh? :?  :) ;)
... and all that stuff...

Peter,

I watched this earlier today. When did you do it? I remember a gig I played a long time ago where we agreed to play for the door take. I made the "joke" later that I was hoping to take my wife and daughters to breakfast with the proceeds, but I was going to have to settle for buying a box of Aunt Jemima's Pancake Mix instead. (My apologies if that joke is a repeat.)

Glad you had the chance to play whenever it was. And you sounded fine.

Hey, Bob:
The morning of May 8th I received a text from Ron Houston (writes/sings/leads most their songs)
asking me to come play a live-gig/sit-in THAT NIGHT! Never had heard any of their stuff;
and had never met any of them.
Spent some time that day listening to some mp3s of their tunes (some covers, too)...
and it was "go!" for the evening.
Got called back for May 15 and 22nd... the video was shot on the last sit-in May 22nd.

Coincidentally, and lucky for me, it was the eve of my daughter's graduation from grad school... so she came out and listened to her old Dad keeping time with some Outlaws.
That alone was a special treat for me. What a hoot!!

Told the guys... keep it simple, I don't do solos or fancy.

No, I'd not heard your story before... sounds about right, though. I got gas money to get there and back home... and a few cold ones. For me, it was just about having some fun... as usual.

Cheers, Amigo.
