Hi funsongs!
I really like the tune. There are noticeable timing issues in the intro and the drums are not really changing/adapting to the lyrics. The vocals also need to sit in a space un-attacked by the rhythm section...so regardless of the genre you probably know that the draft needs a bit more 'love'. My five cents.

Do I hear a little Santana in there? Fun stuff from the funmaster. Not used to the vocal not down the middle.

feaker66, the vocals in varying spots aside from in the middle was a fun thing they did back in the 60s. Refer to this fun piece full of inside jokes from the Monkees:
