HI everyone,

I just joined Taxi in hopes of improving the quality of music I release. After freestyling for over a decade, I recently decided to start writing my own music and actually record. Below are my songs that I have uploaded to Taxi so far. Would love to get some thoughts from the Taxi community!

Welcome - you need to find the post about how to share links from your Taxi profile so they show up for other people. Or put them on Soundcloud etc instead

Cool. It works now - Hip Hop is not really my genre but I think it all meets " Broadcast Quality " which is good news, and Hip Hop is a much used genre in TV licensing. I liked the track Let It Breathe the most.

You might find TV Hip Hop a bit different to what you might make as a beatmaker / artist so it would be a good idea to Google music Libraries and have a listen to what they have in your genre currently so you can explore the differences.

For Sync you will need clean version of the sings, and instrumental and don't submit anything that has used obvious samples from Splice etc particularly melodic hooks or samples that are a chord bed for example.

Thanks for the feedback!

All of these songs came from finding the beat on youtube, leasing it, and then bringing to a studio engineer to record. Still not super clear if that is good enough to be eligible for syncing. I understand the producer tag should be removed, just curious if leasing is enough for a sync.

Best,
Tony

Yikes. Definitely don't send tracks to publishers with beats you ripped from YT - that's copyright infringement and you're running the risk of being sued.

For sync everything has to be cleared so the TV / Film production companies can use it, if they knew you pulled the beat from YT they wouldn't touch it with a 30ft pole.

The best option is to just make your own beats or work with someone who can. Or pay them to make one unique to you and have them sign a work for hire agreement.
