Trailer for a film I scored

I actually just did the trailer today, myself.

It's a 20 minute short I executive produced and scored last year while I was running a multimedia training centre in a remote Australian Aboriginal community. All the music in the trailer is from my score, and that's my voice speaking at the beginning.

Thanks B! This project looked like it was going to get me serious film scoring work in Australia before my life got flipped upside down and I had to come back to the USA. And now I'm starting over. Oh well!I submitted an edit of that epic orchestra rock piece that ends the trailer to the "serious composers" listing and it was returned. I think it's pretty damn good! Again... oh well! For now, you can only see the film by buying the DVD. It's a good cause to support (non-profit multimedia training centre for at-risk Aboriginal youth... not to mention that the whole culture's at risk right now) but I guess not as good a cause as you going to the rally! The film's in the running for some festivals, but maybe when that's all over we'll post the whole thing online.Ooh, here's one more thing I did over there. Long story short, we filmed a traditional ceremony that involves comic relief and crossdressing (true!) and I edited a music video to Madonna's 'Ray of Light.' We of course couldn't use that in the final for sale, so I eventually did a sound-alike track with Aboriginal lyrics.

Just the trailer?! Ha... I know the other thing is pretty weird and inside-jokey. I got a good compliment on the trailer from my wife, that puts it in a league with all the best trailers. She said, "it's more exciting than the movie."

Yep, Suz, it was a time in my life I definitely felt purpose and worked harder than I ever had in any other job, launching and then managing the place. But it's nice that I was forced by my wife's health issue to leave it behind, too. I was working myself ragged to encourage other people to express their creativity. Now I'm just working on my own creativity again! It's still running without me of course, and if you're bored sometime, there's more music videos, documentaries, silliness, news, etc. on the youtube channel at

This is really cool! Thanks for sharing. I have a friend who has visited Australia a couple of times and I have always wanted to go but never been able to. Sorry to hear about your wife's health issues but can relate to " I was working myself ragged to encourage other people to express their creativity. Now I'm just working on my own creativity again!" My husband worked as a university professor teaching music technology for 9 years and finally resigned so that he would have time to pursue it himself and not only teach others how to do it. I'll check out the web site you mentioned now. ~ Lydia
